Jara Beach Resort Children's Recycled Art Competition

Theme: "Protect Our Ocean" 
Age Group: 5yrs-12yrs


Deadline for digital submission: November 1st, 2024
Deadline for only the shortlisted physical submission: November 8th, 2024

Competition rules:


1.⁠ ⁠Open to children between 5 and 12 years of age.
2.⁠ ⁠Participants must reside in Nigeria.
3.⁠ ⁠The artwork must be created using at least 80% recycled or upcycled materials such as paper and cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, rubber, fabric, wood, shells, pebbles, twigs, dried leaves, household items, clothing etc
4.⁠ ⁠The piece can be in a form of sculpture, collage, mosaic, assemblage, painting or mixed media.
5.⁠ ⁠All artwork must be child-produced with minimal adult assistance.
6.⁠ ⁠All digital entries must be submitted by November 1st, 2024 and must include a brief written description explaining the inspiration and the materials used , and the participants name, age and contact information.
7.⁠ ⁠10 shortlisted entries must be submitted in physical form by November 8th, 2024 at a designated drop off location TBC.
8.⁠ ⁠Judging will be based on creativity, theme representation, originality, effort and sustainability.
9.⁠ ⁠Judging will take place on November 10th, 2024 and winners will be announced on November 11th, 2024.
10.⁠ ⁠Prizes:

First Place: An overnight stay at Jara Beach Resort for a family of maximum 2 adults and 3 children (0-17)
Second Place: Day Passes for a family of maximum 2 adults and 3 children (0-17)
Third Place: Art supplies  

All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

11.⁠ ⁠Selected artworks will be displayed at Jara Beach Resort from November 15th to January 15th, 2025.
12.⁠ ⁠All submissions remain the property of the participants but may be used by Jara Beach Resort for promotional purposes.
13.⁠ ⁠By entering, participants agree to abide by the competition rules.
14.⁠ ⁠Any submissions that do not adhere to the theme or criteria will be disqualified.
15.⁠ ⁠The decisions of the judges are final.
